Seattle slump causes shake up behind Kraken benchBy Bobby Orr (Seattle Kraken) On Saturday 13th January 2024 / 6:05pmSeattle's recent 1-6-3 run has spurred Kraken GM Bobby Orr to fire coach Darcy Tucker and assistants Shane Corson and Jiim Korn. Coaching duties will be taken over by the GM himself until a replacement can be named. " Darcy has out in a decent effort here and has tried to instil a winning culture" said Orr, "but we expected to be in the middle of a wild card race and its clear we arent." The Kraken GM has went out a got a true number 1 goaltender with the aquisition of Alevandar Georgiev from the Blue Jackets. Logan Couture was also aquired from the Nordiques to fill the number one centre roll. These moves led to a climb up the standings after the initial deals but the last couple weeks have seen the club drop to the bottom of the west. Goal scoring has been a problem all year for the club so the Kraken are looking for someone to spark some production. Orr has also opened the doors for trading as hes seen enough and expects to make a few deals before this years trade deadline to support the core of this club. Orr also expects his time behind the bench to be brief as its rumoured hes in contract talks with a new benchboss as of this writing. View comments (1)
Nordiques Leading the League...By Chris Ralph (Quebec Nordiques) On Monday 20th November 2023 / 4:47pm... in trades, of course. Having made league leading 11 trades last season, between the off season and so far this season, the Nordiques have made another 11 trades. While the obvious focus is on building to the future, head coach Peter Foppa Forsberg has employed and undeniably effective team strategy with everyone left on the roster abiding by. With the win today, team is back up to a .500 winning percentage, which is quite impressive of given the youthful nature of the roster. Foppa stated in a recent interview he is most impressed and proud of the team's goal differential, currently sitting at a +7, good enough for eighth best in the league, ahead of some high power teams. Foppa tends to sidestep questions on individual players, but he could not help but smile when asked about the impressive performances of his franchise bluelines Dahlin and Hughes. He also had rave reviews of Tommy "Don't Call Me Djokovic" Novak and their $10 million man Kuzmenko, who has, coincidentally, 10 goals and 10 assist in 19 games so far this season. It is rumoured less than 10 of current team actually have purchased real estate in Quebec City, never knowing when GM Chris Ralph will pull the trigger on yet another deal. Stay tuned.
